This May, the InSight mission will be sent on its way to Mars from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.
InSight, the 12th mission of NASA’s Discovery Program, is set to probe deep inside the red planet, the 4th in the solar system from the Sun.
InSight is in fact a fully-fledged geophysical station whose main instrument is the SEIS seismometer, designed and built in France.
SEIS is the result of 15 years of research and development led by CNES.
